Hi, I'm Kerrie
I'm a conservation scientist and land steward based on Salt Spring Island, BC. With over 15 years of food-growing experience and a PhD in Zoology from the University of British Columbia, my work has evolved from studying ecological systems to actively rehydrating and restoring them.
At Wilder Water + Land, I blend scientific rigor with permaculture design and specialized water restoration training (via Water Stories). My mission is to move landowners past reactive fixes and into active collaboration with their environment—designing passive water retention, revitalizing ponds, and restoring natural cycles so your land can thrive for generations.
Our Philosophy
We believe that a landscape is more than just a view; it is a living system. Our approach is grounded in the understanding that drought, fire, and flood are not isolated events, but symptoms of a broken water cycle. By reading the land and healing these cycles, we create resilient environments that grow stronger over time.
Our design philosophy embraces calm, systems-based ecology. We prioritize long-term resilience over immediate ornamentation, matching human vision with nature’s inherent superpowers. Through high-level digital mapping and hands-on site exploration, we build landscapes that act as living sponges, harmonizing with the natural flow of the land.
